wtt w/ 401k, ira

what to do with our ira and 401k? with the poor economy and wall street in the crapper, what do we do about 401 and ira deposits? should we still put money into accounts that have been losing value progressively? i dont know the answer. what i am banking on is that while the market is down, i am buying shares of funds with my ira and 401 cheap. i get a better value because i get more for my money. then in the future when our economy is back up, i benifit. i have heard and i believe that people who are of retirement age should NOT be in the stock market. they should be in a safe and secure money market account. that way does not decrease in value. sure it only makes a few points, but you dont have 20+ years to grow your egg, you need it now, so the smaller growth outweighs the risk of investments. i think i will chance it and invest in my future with the hope that in 20 years it would have been worth it.

what a great weekend. a little warm but otherwise great. hope to get the same this upcoming weekend and into next week. taking a nice vacation on the lake shore.

over $500 dollars for golf clubs???? WHAAAAT??? and thats a cheap set, less the putter and driver and oh, no bag either. thats another $200. greens fees.....$23, $24, $21 for 9 holes, walking. robbery i tell you, robbery. after that the greedy pocket pickers have the nerve to tell me to hurry up. are you kidding me. i pay $25 just to walk around on your grass for 2 hours and then you want to say walk faster. i pay to play at my chosen speed. have you ever had the local grocer come up behind you and say "move it along buddy, you're too slow picking out your meat". or the gas station telling you to "pump faster". come on.

old rock stars

all the old rock stars are on tour. you have got to be kidding me. these washed up retirees from the 60's and 70's rock and pop charts are making comeback tours. why would you waste hard earned money to see some blue haired milkshake with no talent left scream and jump around on the stage. you can get the same from the local nursing home at snack time! don't get me wrong, i loved the music, still do. but originals are always better. the oldtimers sound like impersonators, yuck.

gas prices

why in the hell would someone drive all over town to save 10-20 GD cents a gallon??? when gas is over 3 dollar and fitty cent (more modern slang from earlier post) thats $3.50 for those who don't speak ghetto. anyway, with the high prices, 20 cents buys you a cup of gas, you burn it staring your car. why would a sone person drive around wasting 5 dollars in gas to save 3-4 dollars? i don't know.ahhhhhhh!

golf

i recently re-started my professional golf career.........ten years ago it was just amatuer, but now after buying the latest driver and a new glove and new shoes and a..... i am out to persue my professional golf career. i know thats all in my head, but i think it works for me. why is it though, i can go out and play 9 holes, suck at 7 of them and can't wait to get back out again? ten years ago i dreaded going once a year, now i go once a week. go figure.

chasing the lottery ghost

so many people spend too much hard earned cash on the lottery. 10, 20 50 dollars A DAY! whoa, what up wit dat (trying the slang from previous my post). and then when they flat out don't win, they say something stupid like: wow, i almost won, the number came out 321 and i had 654, HUH? there is no almost in winning the lottery, you either win or you don't. but these suckers justify playing day after day by the "almost" thoughts. and then after putting out 5 or 6 hundred dollars, they hit for 250 and are thrilled to death. i just don't see it. and the vast majority of people can't afford to spend that much.

what kind of an idiot throws away a government job after 30 years just so she can get 3 grand to buy a rolex watch? what a dumbass!
putting the DNC convention on prime time tv is a waste. i have not seen anyone talk except the news anchors. who wants to hear more crap from news anchors. i'd rather hear crap from politicians. besides, they should put it on in the middle of the night when i am sleeping, not when i want to watch real tv ! how much did the convention/party cost us taxpayers anyway?
