X10 mini用のパッチの当たったマーケット・アプリは日本語アプリでつまづくようだ

今まで、「QVGA画面対応」なんて書いていたが考えてみるとそれは誤った表現だ。マーケットアプリはQVGAのX10 miniでも動作する。ただ、QVGAであるがために、リストされないアプリもリストされるようにするためにパッチが必要なのだ。それはさておき、今使っているパッチの当たったマーケット・アプリは日本語アプリを扱えないように思う。一応インストールまでできるのだが、アイコンはデフォルトのものとおぼわしきアンドロイド君のものだし、アプリ名はcom.xxxx.xxxxというIDがそのまま出ている。このため、AndronaviやBloccoがインストールできない。いずれにせよ、さらに新しい版のパッチに取り組んでくれているそうだから、それで解消することを祈ろう。

新ケチケチ携帯大作戦で使用するソフトバンクのプリペード・サービスであるプリモバイルでは、60日間の利用有効期間とその後の360日間の電話番号有効期間を通して、SMSは無料で受信できるらしい。しかしこのSMSの文字制限がはっきりわからない。ソフトバンクのウェブサイトではiPhone用の話として最大670文字としているが、これが他の端末に当てはまるかどうかはわからない。直感的には当てはまらないと想像される。670字というとかなりの文字数で、それだけのサービスをタダでソフトバンクが提供するとは思えないからだ。価格.com上の一スレッドでの： SMSの本来の仕様は140オクテッド（ダブルバイトで70文字）が妥当な話に思える。それが実際正しいかどうかはさておき、プリモバイルの猛者たちはこれをメールの自動分割つき転送サービス/ソフトで最大限に利用しているらしい。...

来年から2ヶ月ちょっとJALを毎週利用することになっている。当然JALのFFP (Frequent Flyer Program)に加入しないと。 JALのはJALマイレージバンクというようだ。まず、チケットの手配をしてくださる方が会員番号を今必要としておられるので、まずはオンラインで入会手続き。本来5分の作業だが、オンライン・フォームで自分が入力する日本語全角文字列を正しく受け取ってもらえないという問題に2時間以上浪費してしまった。JALに電話で問い合わせても特に有益な情報が得られなかったが、わかってしまえば、自分がブラウザの「Webページの言語」に日本語を入れていなかったからのようだ。これに関してTwitterを通じて何人もの方にお力添え頂いた。まったくもってありがたい限り。この場を借りて御礼申し上げたい。...
